Draining

At the time of creation pools of magic called mana wells were established to bring magic to Korinth. During his war against the gods, the evil god Neckroth drew so heavily from the mana wells that they emptied, leaving Korinth without mana and wizards and other arcane-spellcasters helpless. This caused a mighty upheaval in society as civilizations that had known magic for thousands of years suddenly found themselves in a magic-dead world.
